Overview

At Skills Strategies International we have been delivering the dual diploma to a mixed group of professionals from the public sector, private sector, schools and other registered training organisations (RTO’s).

The learners’ feedback has been overwhelmingly positive as the dual diploma has a strong focus on learning rather than compliance and the content delivered aligns with participants’ job roles. This consolidates the learning and allows learners to apply the learning immediately in the workplace. Some examples are:

  • Training needs analysis of the current workplace
  • Development of a cost effective development plan
  • Cooperative design and development of learning strategies
  • Proactive support of LLN challenges in the workplace
  • In-course evaluation of existing assessment processes
  • Evaluation of the training programs refocused on the benefits for the trainer and the business.

There are many reasons why the dual qualification is successful but the overall consensus is that “Higher is Better”. The Diploma level qualification is a workplace relevant course that prepares learners for their Vocational roles whereas the Certificate IV level qualification lacks the connection to workplace implementation.

TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training

This qualification reflects the roles of experienced practitioners delivering training and assessment services usually within Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) within the vocational education and training (VET) sector. They may have a role in leading other trainers and assessors in providing mentoring or advice to new trainers or assessors as well as designing approaches to learning and assessment strategies across a significant area within the RTO.

TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design and Development 

This qualification reflects the roles of training developers and instructional designers who are responsible for analysing training needs and designing training solutions and products to meet workplace capability requirements, and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs. They may have a role in providing guidance and advice to trainers and assessors, promoting innovative practices, e.g. e-learning, and in researching and incorporating best practice in training and assessment into training programs and products.

This qualification is aimed at participants who are working in a training role within an organisation and are responsible for the design of products and training solutions and leading other trainers and assessors as well as designing approaches to learning and assessment strategies across their organisation or in the VET sector.

Blended delivery in clusters

This delivery method includes scheduled clustered classroom training sessions delivered at our Balcatta training premises, online learning through our online learning platform and workplace learning. This delivery format would suit teachers, those currently delivering VET and are looking to update the superseded TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Blended delivery 2 hour tutorial sessions

This course delivery format is developed for experience trainers that hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. The delivery method includes 2 hour tutorial sessions delivered as a workshop at our Balcatta training premises or as a webinar at scheduled dates throughout the year. This is a rolling intake for ease of attendance.

This course is delivered through online 1 hour Webinars using Zoom. This course delivery format would suit teachers, those currently delivering VET and are looking to update the superseded TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

General Information

We strongly recommend that you have completed the TAE40110/TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or have the vocational /academic experience or work environment to undertake these qualifications.
It is also recommended that you work in the VET sector or have access to the VET sector for the purpose of training practicums.

Recognised Prior Learning (RPL)

As a consequence of extended experience as a VET practitioner, some units will be suitable for RPL assessment. Please contact us on 08 6143 2180 to discuss your personal training needs. 

 

Funded Course Fees

Fees and charges are based on the Department of Training and Workforce Development Fees and Charges Policy in line with Skills Strategies International developed training plan.

Any changes to the training plan may see an alteration to these fees.
