This 8 week program commencing early 2019 is developed with educators and business leaders in mind. Suitable for teams, educators, managers and senior leadership teams, including School Principals.
Mindfulness is a practice that focuses attention and presence. Being able to effectively engage attention is a pre-requisite for effectiveness and an important life-skill to master. The benefits of mindfulness are a greater sense of well-being, improved ability to be productive and an increased ability to cope with stress.
We are offering 8 weeks of two hour sessions for workplaces keen to enhance their Mindfulness Strategies in the comfort and convenience of your own premises. This program can commence in any month starting February 2019 and delivered onsite at your workplace or at an agreed venue.
This is a powerful program for your team’s health and well-being. This practical and experiential 8 week program will explore the science, philosophy and practice of mindfulness with a particular focus on aspects relevant to our current personal and professional lives. We will delve into aspects such as memory, executive functioning, problem-solving, behaviour, relationships, communication, and mental and physical health.
We will also explore some of the potentially negative impacts of screen time, technology and multitasking in relation to the power of attention and overall well-being.
How to find peace in a frantic world: By training our brains in mindfulness and related practices, we build new neural pathways and networks in the brain, boosting concentration, flexibility and awareness.
Unmindfulness: What does the mind do when we are not paying attention? It slips quietly into what is called ‘default mode.’ With the pace of life, screen time, multi-tasking and distraction in the world today, important regions of the brain get a little ‘frazzled.’
Finding Joy in the Journey: As you spend time practicing mindfulness, you will find yourself feeling kinder, calmer and more patient. These shifts in your experience are likely to generate positive changes in other aspect of your personal and professional life.
Mindful Communication: It’s easy to be a little biased when examining our own selves and personalities. Mindfulness can help us see beyond this to enable objectivity and self-analysis, observing our relationship with others in new ways.
Mindful Stress Reduction and Managing Emotions: Stress reduction is often an effect of mindfulness practice but the ultimate goal is to wake up to the inner workings of our mental, emotional and physical processes.
Mindful Resilience: With the help of mindfulness practice, we can change our brain in a way that improves how we react to setbacks and to make positive decisions going forward in life.
Improving Work and Study Performance: Ever wondered why mindfulness meditation can make you feel more focused and calm? It’s because it helps the brain to have better control over processing information, pain and emotions, making you more creative, attentive and productive. Some research has described this a “zen.”
Mindfulness as a Way of Life: Recently a study conducted by the University of Utah showed that mindfulness is linked to greater emotional stability and self-control, plus better sleep patterns. “People who reported higher levels of mindfulness described better control over their emotions and behaviours during the day.”
The Mindfulness Workshop is developed with leaders and educators in mind and open for any teams interested in how mindfulness can be applied to everyday personal and professional life.
