Retention of currency
The Training and Education Training Package was updated in April 2016 to ensure the VET workforce has appropriate skills in designing and developing assessment tools and identifying and evaluating LLN requirements. It is mandatory that trainers have these units as part of the training qualification and retention of currency for the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
The units are developed to update learners’ skills in delivering high quality vocational education and training which supports the skill development of trainers and assessors. These workshops are delivered in blended mode with classroom, online and workplace component or as a fully self-pace online option.
TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools Workshops
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to design and to develop assessment tools used to guide the collection of quality evidence, including their application in formative, summative and recognition of prior learning (RPL) assessment.
It applies to experienced practitioners responsible for the development and/or delivery of training and assessment products and services.

The cost for the online/RPL training option is $300 GST free.
TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills Workshops
This unit describes the skills and knowledge a vocational trainer or assessor requires to identify language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skill requirements of training and the work environment, and to use resources and strategies that meet the needs of the learner group.
The unit applies to individuals who teach, train, assess and develop resources. Competence in this unit does not indicate that a person is a qualified specialist adult language, literacy or numeracy practitioner.
